Description
A friendly young man with a great sense of humour is looking for a PA to support his active, varied lifestyle. He loves WWE, swimming, basketball (including wheelchair basketball), cinema trips, and getting out in the community to enjoy activities he’s passionate about.
He is verbal, mobile, and keen to build his independence. He has his own bus pass and would benefit from a PA who can support him to use public transport with confidence. He thrives on routine and clear plans, which help him feel settled and relaxed.
The client has autism and learning difficulties and may find changes or busy social situations challenging at times. With consistent, positive support, he is motivated to develop his social skills, confidence, independence, and money-handling skills, and enjoys opportunities to make friends.
Family, pets, and feeling comfortable with the people around him are very important to him, so he is looking for a kind, reliable PA who can offer encouragement, structure, and companionship.
The role of the PA will involve supporting the client to attend his regular activities, including basketball on Wednesday evenings between 8.30 and 9.30pm at Truro School, and occasional wheelchair basketball on Thursday evenings from 7.00 to 9.00pm at Truro College. The PA will also support the client with trips to the cinema, shops, and local cafés such as McDonald’s or Costa, while encouraging the development of his social skills, independence, and confidence in the community.
