The lady is looking for a kind and reliable PA to provide practical and social support. This includes assistance with showering twice per week, light household tasks such as hoovering and managing rubbish and recycling, help with putting away online shopping, and support to attend shops, medical appointments, and community activities.
Description
A friendly lady who enjoys getting out into the community, particularly going for coffee is looking for a PA to support her to do this more often, as she currently spends a lot of time at home on her own. She values encouragement and support to help her live independently and stay socially connected.
She has experienced a silent heart attack and several strokes, which have resulted in some mobility difficulties, including a dropped left leg, and occasional memory difficulties. With the right support, she is keen to remain confident and active when out and about.
She lives with two cats, so the PA must be comfortable around pets and not allergic.
Key responsibilities
Provide support with showering twice per week
Assist with light household tasks, including hoovering, rubbish, and recycling
Support with putting away shopping
Accompany the client to shops, medical appointments, and community outings
Encourage and support social engagement, including going out for coffee
Provide reassurance, patience, and prompts where memory support is helpful
Ensure the client’s safety and wellbeing while promoting independence
Essential requirements
A kind, patient, and reliable approach to supporting others
Ability to support someone with mobility and occasional memory difficulties
Comfortable working in a home with cats
Willingness to assist with personal care in a respectful and dignified manner
Ability to support the client to access the community and attend appointments
Good communication skills and a supportive, encouraging manner
Respect for confidentiality and the client’s independence and choices
Right to work in the UK
