A new opportunity is available for a kind, considerate and experienced PA to support a gentleman in his home. The gentleman has Parkinson’s and Lewy-Body Dementia and requires support a few days a week while his wife is at work. The role includes supporting him with daily living needs, such as prompting him to use the bathroom, ensuring that he has access to food and drink throughout the day, and observing that his medication is taken at the required times. Light domestic tasks, including cleaning and ironing, will also be part of the role. The family also have a lovely eight-year-old black Labrador who would benefit from a short walk each day.

The gentleman’s mother-in-law also lives in the home. She is chair-bound and has her own care team who manage her personal care needs. Your involvement with her would be minimal but important, ensuring she has drinks when needed, engaging in a friendly chat and generally making sure she is comfortable and okay.

The gentleman is a former paramedic with a strong passion for sport — especially cricket, football and rugby — so enjoying a good conversation about sport would be a bonus, although this is not essential. His mother-in-law, despite being 94 and chair-bound, remains very bright and talkative, so there will be plenty of friendly conversation in the household.
