We’re offering a rewarding opportunity to join a small, dynamic team supporting an intelligent and engaging autistic man to live life on his own terms. Though he has limited use of language, his sharp mind and unique perspective shine through in the way he manages his life and interacts with the world around him. He enjoys sea swimming, coastal walks, good beer, holidays, and exploring new interests—often inspired by the creativity and ideas of his PAs. We’re looking for thoughtful, proactive individuals who will help build his confidence, encourage greater independence, and support him to develop relationships and experiences beyond his family and support team. If you’re patient, open-minded, and motivated to make a meaningful difference, this is a truly fulfilling role.
Key responsibilities
Provide person-centred support that promotes independence
Supporting communication in ways that recognise and value non verbal expression
Encourage participation in activities
Contribute ideas and initiatives that can broaden his life and skills
Essential requirements
A genuine interest in supporting someone to live independently
DBS Check (or willing to get one)
Patient and open-minded
Willingness to participate in activities
Reliability, flexibility and the ability to work well within a small team
Openness to bringing new ideas to the team
Additional information
Staff usually work on a 2:1 basis. On call shifts are also available which are paid at rate of £60.00 for the 24-hour shift.
