Description

An independently living female adult is seeking a self-employed Personal Assistant (PA) to provide practical and social support in their home and community. The role is funded via Direct Payments and is intended to support an individual with invisible illnesses and neurodivergence, including Autism, ADHD, and C-PTSD. An understanding of these conditions and a calm, respectful approach are essential.

Schedule

Monday: Any time after 1400
Wedesday: 1400 - 1700
Thursday: 1230 - 1700
Friday: Any time after 1400 (occasionally Thursday and Friday will need to be interchanged)
Sunday: 1230 - 1700 (occasionally Saturday and Sunday will need to be interchanged)

**The Thursday and Sunday days are especially important during school holiday periods, but can be missed at other times if the PA doesn’t want to work those days.

Key responsibilities

General household support (cleaning, laundry, meal preparation)

Shopping and errands

Medication support (no administration)

Occasional light gardening

Support with communication when required

Transport and support to access the community

No personal care is required currently but this may change

Essential requirements

Applicants must:

Be self-employed and have a Unique Taxpayer Reference (UTR) from HMRC

Hold a full, clean UK driving licence

Have access to their own roadworthy vehicle

Hold a current Enhanced DBS

Have public liability insurance

Have relevant experience supporting individuals with disabilities, long-term health conditions, or neurodivergence

Health & Workplace Boundaries

No smoking or swearing during working hours

No perfumes to be worn

If unwell with a contagious illness, the PA must not attend work until no longer contagious due to the individual’s compromised immunity

Due to the nature of the role and the individual’s specific needs, there is a genuine occupational requirement for the PA to be female, in accordance with the Equality Act 2010.

This role requests a self-employed person to provide services directly to the client. You will be paid by them and not our organisation.
