Description
A lady in the Saltash area is seeking support from a Personal Assistant to help her get ready for and transport her to College on a Monday, Wednesday and Thursday. She enjoys trips to the beach, dog walks, art groups, and gallery visits and would like support to organise these activities on Tuesday and Friday. She is a talented artist, animal lover, and fantastic swimmer.
She requires additional support with maintaining her personal hygiene, ensuring she is wearing appropriate clothing, preparing meals, and keeping her room clean and tidy. When tasks build up, she can become overwhelmed, so gentle prompting and support are important. She also needs prompting to take her morning medication and to feed her pets.
She may require monitoring while eating as she can sometimes overeat when feeling stressed or anxious. Support in accessing the community, mixing socially, and engaging in meaningful activities is essential, as she finds it extremely difficult to make friends independently.
She experiences hip and knee difficulties which occasionally require the use of crutches, a wheelchair, or a knee support. She sometimes needs prompting to use these aids when needed. Encouragement to leave the house is important as she may withdraw from the outside world if allowed, although she generally enjoys being out once she gets started. She can become tired quickly due to poor sleep habits, so a patient and understanding approach is required.
