Personal Assistant Wanted – Fun, Friendly, and Energetic!

We are looking for a vibrant, kind, and energetic Personal Assistant with a great sense of humour to support a wonderful young man with Down syndrome and a learning disability. He is sociable, fun-loving, and enjoys being out and about, with interests including swimming, boogie boarding, tennis, cinema trips, live music, going to the pub to play pool, and taking part in meaningful volunteering opportunities. He values friendships, enjoys meeting people, and thrives with encouragement, emotional reassurance, and a positive, patient approach.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being active, social, and creative, and who values building genuine, supportive relationships. The Personal Assistant will support him to access community activities, develop everyday life skills, and maintain a fulfilling social life, always working in a respectful, person-centred way that promotes confidence, independence, and choice.

Key responsibilities

Support with emotional well-being and reassurance to build confidence

Social inclusion, groups and peer activities

Support to access public transport

Shopping and budgeting support

Support to maintain an develop friendships and relationships

Learning new daily living skills such as cooking and household chores

Support to look for/engage in voluntary work or training

To go to the pub, play pool, listen to live music, cinema trips

Essential requirements

Great communication skills

Proof of self-employment in the UK, insurance & DBS check

References

Standard training (can be provided free)

Full driving licence, access to a vehicle + business cover

Data Protection and Confidentiality – follows UK GDPR regulations

Terms:

This role requests a self-employed person to provide services directly to the client. You will be paid by them and not our organisation.
